The British University in Dubai (BUiD) is a research-based, non-profit institution in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Founded in 2003 by the country's Vice President and Prime Minister Maktoum bin Rashid al-Maktoum, it is licensed by the UAE's Ministry of Education's Higher Education Affairs and all its programmes are accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA).

BUiD is part of a strategic alliance with three UK Russell Group universities: University of Edinburgh, the University of Manchester, and University of Glasgow.

BUiD is located in Dubai International Academic City, Dubai.

ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY OF MALDIVES


Islamic University of Maldives, formerly known as the College of Islamic Studies (Kulliyyah Al- Dhirasaathil Islamiyah) became a full-fledged higher education institution on 21st February 2004 (1st Muharram 1425). This change in status was initiated with the intention to widen the scope of Islamic education provided to Maldivian students who were desperately seeking Islamic education within the country without having to travel abroad.


With the change in status, College of Islamic Studies adopted an approach to teaching which focused mainly on integration of research and innovation. The purpose was to promote higher level of thinking informed by research to ensure provision of holistic understanding of Islam considered from varying perspectives and contexts.


With the new developments, College of Islamic Studies continued to offer a number of academic programs with special focus on diploma and degrees in areas such as Qur’anic Studies, Arabic language, Islamic Studies and Shari’ah and Law until it was upgraded to the first ever Islamic University of Maldives(IUM) by an act of parliament in 2015 to realize one of the highest priorities of the government; to promote and to protect the Islamic faith in the Maldives.


IUM is grounded on a dynamic and a prospective vision and a willful and determined mission to fulfill academic training and research along with dissemination of Islamic knowledge with its applicability in the context of the modern and fast changing world.

NARXOZ UNIVERSITY,  KAZAKHSTAN


Narkhoz University is a university in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It offers courses in economics, business, finance, and law.

The university was founded in 1963 as Almaty Institute of National Economy, and received its current name in 2016. The university consists of 3 schools, 5 representative offices in the regions of Kazakhstan, and an economic college.

The university's courses have been accredited by the Central and East European Management Development Association and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

BAHRIA UNIVERSITY, PAKISTAN


Bahria University (BU) is a Federally Chartered Public Sector University which was established on 7th February 2000 by Pakistan Navy. It is a multi-campus institution of higher education, which is committed to attain the highest standards in teaching, learning and research, compatible with global requirements of practicing different professions. The University is widely recognized for preparing professionals, some to assume roles of future leaders and some to become good executives/managers through development of their physical, mental, moral and professional competence. The principal seat of Bahria University is at Islamabad and campuses are at Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore. Bahria is a comprehensive university having multidisciplinary programs that includes Health Sciences, Engineering Sciences, Computer Sciences, Management Sciences, Social Sciences, Law, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Psychology and Maritime Studies. 

TRIBHUVAN UNIVERSITY, KATHMANDU, NEPAL


Tribhuvan University (TU), established in 1959, is the first national institution of higher education in Nepal. It is a non-profit autonomous institution funded by the government.  In 2013, TU was declared as the Central University. After the second democratic movement of 2006, AD, the Prime Minister is the Chancellor and the Minister of Education is the Pro-Chancellor of TU. The Vice Chancellor is the Chief Executive of the university. The Vice-Chancellor is assisted by the Rector in academic Programmes and the Registrar in financial management and general administration. Senate is the supreme decision-making body in formulating policies, budget, and rules and regulations for running the university. It consists of 52 members. The Central Adminstrative Office and the Central Campus of TU are located on the north eastern facade of Kirtipur, an ancient and small town located five kilometers away from Kathmandu city centre. There are 40 central departments and 4 research centres in TU, and out of them, 32 central departments and 4 research centres are located at Kirtipur, Kathmandu. The university at Kirtipur is spread over an area of 154.77 hectares.  

Tribhuvan University is devoted to becoming a source and center of quality education in the country by instilling a culture of learning and promoting the concept of national and global peace and harmony. The main objective of the university is to prepare capable human resources for  overall development of the nation. Its three main goals are to promote and transmit advanced learning, to safeguard and enhance national culture and tradition, and to engage people in vast, empirical, and current knowledge and study in the realms of arts, science, technology, and vocation.

UNIVERSITY OF SINDH, PAKISTAN

The University of Sindh, the oldest University of the country, was constituted under the University of Sindh Act. No. XVII of 1947 passed by the Legislative Assembly of Sindh. The Act was subsequently revised and modified in 1961 and later. The Act of 1972 under which the University is presently functioning provided for greater autonomy and representation of teachers .

From 1947 to 1951 the University functioned solely as an examining body. However, after its relocation in Hyderabad in 1951, it started functioning as a teaching university in pursuit of fulfillment of its charter and mission to disseminate knowledge; the first teaching department, namely, Department of Education, raised to the status of Faculty of Education later, was started in view of the great dearth of trained teachers in the country. The departments of basic Science disciplines as well as other departments on humanities side were added by mid fifties.

The development of the present Campus at Jamshoro, about 15 kilometer from Hyderabad on the right bank of River Indus now designated as Allama I.I. Kazi Campus, was started in late fifties. Most of the teaching departments under the Faculty of Science were shifted to the new campus in 1961, with departments under Arts & Humanities following suite in 1970.

The academic march forward continued with the gradual addition of other teaching departments and now there are 43 full-fledged teaching institutes/centres/departments functioning under various academic Faculties. Institute of Biotechnology & Genetic Engineering and Centre for Environmental Sciences are the latest addition.

There are presently 4 Law Colleges and 74 Degree and Post Graduate Colleges (including 16 Private Colleges) affiliated to the University.

UNIVERSITY OF COLOMBO, SRI LANKA

The University of Colombo stands as one of the premier higher education institutions in the country. Established initially as the Ceylon University College in 1921, it later gained university status in 1942, becoming the University of Ceylon. The present name, the University of Colombo, was adopted in 1978, marking a significant milestone in its rich history. Since 1921, the University of Colombo has established an outstanding reputation for research, innovation, and teaching excellence. It is ranked number one among the top universities in Sri Lanka, reflecting its commitment to delivering quality education.

The University of Colombo comprises several faculties, each specializing in different academic disciplines. These faculties include the Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Management and Finance, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Graduate Studies, Faculty of Technology, and Faculty of Computing. Each faculty offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs designed to meet the diverse needs of students and the demands of the modern workforce. The Faculty of Medicine, one of the oldest and most prestigious faculties, has been at the forefront of medical education and research in Sri Lanka. It is renowned for its rigorous curriculum and state-of-the-art facilities, producing highly skilled medical professionals who serve both locally and internationally. Similarly, the Faculty of Law is well-respected for its contributions to legal education and research, producing many of the country's top legal minds. Faculty of Education is the pioneer faculty for education in Sri Lanka and it is still the only Faculty of Education in the Sri Lankan state university system, which offers degrees from undergraduate to PhD level. 

The university's commitment to research is evident in its numerous research centers and institutes, which focus on various disciplines. These include the Institute of Human Resource Advancement, the Institute of Indigenous Medicine, the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, and The Center for Meditation Research among others. These centers are dedicated to advancing knowledge and addressing pressing societal issues through innovative research. International collaboration is a cornerstone of the University of Colombo's mission. The university maintains partnerships with numerous prestigious institutions worldwide, facilitating student and staff exchanges, joint research projects, and academic collaborations. 

Recently, the University of Colombo has reaffirmed its excellence by securing the leading position among Sri Lankan universities in the 2nd edition of the Webometrics Ranking 2024. The university also achieved the top rank in the 1st edition of the year 2024. Remarkably, it has attained the 1590th spot globally. With this release, the university has reached an extraordinary milestone by attaining the top position in the Times Higher Education World Rankings, QS World Rankings, Scimago Institutions Rankings, and Webometrics Rankings, solidifying its status as Sri Lanka’s leading academic institution. It is the first university in Sri Lanka to achieve the highest rank in all four major global university rankings.

The University of Colombo’s remarkable performance across these domains has propelled it to global academic recognition, reaffirming its dedication to providing top-notch education and conducting cutting-edge research.

JAWAHARLAL NEHRU UNIVERSITY 

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is a premier institution in India, renowned for its excellence in teaching and research. Established in 1966, it ranks first in India by NAAC with a score of 3.91 and has received accolades such as the Best University Award from the President of India in 2017.

JNU promotes a unique educational philosophy that fosters intellectual exploration and diversity of opinions. Its innovative structure includes ten Schools and four Special Centres, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration and research. JNU was a pioneer in offering integrated foreign language programs and emphasizes continuous evaluation over traditional exams, promoting active student participation.

With numerous faculty awards and significant contributions to national policy, JNU has established itself as a center of excellence recognized by the University Grants Commission. The university also collaborates globally through various research projects and exchange programs, reinforcing its commitment to academic leadership and social impact.
